FlatOut — Privacy Policy

FlatOut is an independent, unofficial Formula 1 companion app published by Neo Media Productions Inc. (“we,” “us”). We collect the minimum needed to run your account and the features you choose to use. The free version shows ads (which you can remove); we do not sell your data or track you across other apps or websites. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.

The short version

• FlatOut uses an account (email + password) so your settings, favorites, and ratings follow you across devices.
• Your account data is stored on our backend provider, Supabase. We don’t sell it or share it with advertisers.
• We run no third-party analytics. The free version shows non-personalized ads (remove them with Pro or a one-time purchase); we do no cross-app ad tracking.
• You can delete your account and all its data at any time, right inside the app.

Information we collect

• Account: your email address and a password, used to sign you in. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in a securely hashed form — we never see or store your plain password.
• Profile & preferences: your favorite driver and team, spoiler-free setting, units, and time-zone/city, plus — if you choose to set them — a public username (@handle), display name, and profile photo. These are saved to your account so they sync across your devices.
• Ratings & reviews: if you rate a race weekend or write a review, that content — shown alongside your @handle and profile photo — is stored and is visible to other FlatOut users. Don’t include anything in a review you wouldn’t want to be public.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active FlatOut Pro subscription.
• Upgrade-screen activity: when you open the FlatOut Pro screen, where you opened it from, which plan you tap, and whether a purchase or restore went through (never your payment details). It’s stored in our own database, linked to your account, used only to understand and improve those screens, never shared, and deleted with your account.
• On your device: some of the above preferences are also cached locally so the app works quickly and offline.

Where your data lives

We use Supabase (a hosted database, authentication, file storage, and serverless-function platform) as our backend. Your account, profile, ratings, and any profile photo are stored there on our behalf; Supabase acts as our data processor. See Supabase’s privacy policy.

Sports data, weather & news

To show live timing, results, standings, schedules, weather, and news, the app relies on third-party data providers. Most of this information is requested through our own backend rather than from your device; some feeds (such as weather and news headlines) are requested by the app directly, and tapping a news headline opens the article on the publisher’s own website. We do not send your personal information to any of these providers. As with any internet request, a provider whose feed the app requests directly may log technical information such as an IP address in its own server logs, which we do not control.

Purchases

FlatOut Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system on iPhone and Google Play Billing on Android. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see or store your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status — it receives an app-generated identifier and your subscription state so the app can unlock Pro features and restore purchases, and does not receive your payment information. How we use your information

We use your data only to provide and improve the app: to sign you in, sync your settings and favorites, store and display your ratings and reviews, unlock Pro features, and see how people use the FlatOut Pro screens so we can make them clearer. We do not use your account data to target ads, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Analytics & advertising

FlatOut uses no third-party analytics SDKs. The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob; FlatOut Pro subscribers and anyone who buys the one-time Remove Ads option see none. These ads are non-personalized — AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to serve and frequency-cap ads and to prevent fraud, but we do not build a profile of you, and ads are not targeted using your behavior or your account data. Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), we ask for your consent through Google’s consent prompt before ads are shown. See Google’s advertising policies. If we ever introduce personalized ads, we will request your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt first. We never sell your personal data.

Keeping your data & deleting it

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, profile, favorites, ratings, and upgrade-screen activity from our backend. We keep your data only while your account exists (subscription records required for Apple, Google or tax purposes may persist as required by law). Deleting the app removes locally cached preferences, and you can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your Apple ID / App Store settings on iPhone, or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions on Android.

Children

FlatOut is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
